Tech Platform & Dual UX Design: The Devpunks Case
For Devpunks, Backdoor Studio designed and engineered the official web platform, solving its dual positioning through a UX and UI structure of high visual precision.
The Tech Positioning Problem: Connecting a Talent Pool and Corporate Clients
Managing the digital presence of an elite network of senior developers and AI engineers means speaking to two very different audiences at once: on one side, tech companies and CTOs looking for talent and LLM integrations; on the other, a community of highly specialised developers who reject traditional corporate talk and look for stimulating work environments. A web structure that is too formal drives developers away, while an overly casual layout risks losing credibility with corporate investors.
The Backdoor Studio Solution: Dual-Navigation Architecture and a Cyber-Punk Aesthetic
Dual-Path Navigation System (Company vs Developer)
We built in a primary navigation toggle that lets users choose their access mode right away:
- Company Path: focus on AI Transformation, building AI Agents, LLM integration and a transparent explanation of the Devpunks Method (Scouting, Selection, Support with a Fractional CTO).
- Developer Path (“Punk-Side”): an immersive experience marked by the message “Welcome to the PUNK-SIDE”, designed to engage the best senior freelancers in Europe.
Dark-Neon UI and Custom 3D Assets
The visual identity adopts a dark aesthetic enriched with neon green details, technical grids and the iconic “punk” skull rebuilt in 3D. We also modelled and rendered a series of custom three-dimensional badges representing the main programming languages and frameworks (Python, JavaScript, React, C++, Rust).
Platform Results
The new Devpunks website sets a new standard for software engineering platforms. Combining B2B clarity with an unconventional visual character, the brand clearly stands out in the tech market, attracting the best developers and giving companies a clear, responsive point of access.
