Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 June 2026
This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it and what rights you have. In short: this is a privacy-light site. The only personal data we may process is the nickname you voluntarily choose to save your mini-game score. No accounts, no profiling cookies, no tracking.
1. Data controller
Backdoor SRL — Via Filippo Corridoni 49, 50134 Florence (FI), Italy. VAT 07511420486.
For any request about your data or to exercise your rights, you can write to hello@backdoor-studio.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect personal data only if you choose to save your score in the mini-game on the site. In that case we process: the nickname you choose (1 to 9 characters, letters and numbers only) and the score you achieved.
We collect nothing else: no email, real name, address, phone number or payment data. No registration or login is required.
The nickname is free text: please do not enter data that identifies you (such as your full name), as it will be shown on the public leaderboard.
3. Why we process this data (purpose and legal basis)
We use the nickname and score for a single purpose: to display the public leaderboard of top scores (top 10) within the site.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you give by voluntarily choosing to save your score. You can withdraw it at any time by requesting deletion (see point 8).
4. How long we keep it
Your nickname and score stay saved until you ask us to remove them: write to hello@backdoor-studio.com and we will delete them.
The temporary technical data used to validate a game session (a one-time token) is deleted automatically within a few hours.
5. Where the data is stored and who helps us
To run the site we rely on external providers acting as data processors: IONOS SE (site hosting, with servers in the European Union) and Upstash Inc. (the database where the leaderboard is stored).
Data hosted on IONOS stays within the European Union. Upstash, however, may process data outside the EU: in that case the transfer is based on the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR (e.g. the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. Cookies
This site does not use profiling, analytics or marketing cookies. For details, see the Cookie Policy.
7. Third-party services
When you visit the immersive /void page, your browser downloads a technical component (a 3D decoder, "DRACO") from a Google server (gstatic.com). To deliver that file Google may log your IP address. No advertising tracking takes place.
Our hosting provider (IONOS) may record technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) for the security and proper operation of the site.
Contact happens through email (mailto) links that open your own mail client: we do not collect data through forms on the site.
8. Your rights
Under Articles 15-22 of the GDPR you have the right to: access your data, request its correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, obtain data portability and withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise them, write to hello@backdoor-studio.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (https://www.garanteprivacy.it).
9. Minors
The site is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice over time. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the last-updated date shown at the top.
